On Tuesday, I got to take a close look at some amazing art pieces called “kufi” and, to learn about artifacts and products of different cultures that were on display at the Putrajaya International Islamic Arts & Culture Festival of PIIACuf.
Besides Malaysia, there were exhibitors from Indonesia, Iran, Morocco and Spain that I saw at the exciting Festival which carried a theme of “From Andalusia to Putrajaya.”
PIIACuF is organized by Perbadanan Putrajaya / Putrajaya Corporation (PPJ).
As described on PIIACuF’s website, “PIIACuF is the first event of its kind to be organized in Malaysia. It aims at pioneering the values of Islam through the perspective of a moderate society in which arts and culture take center stage in delivering the messages of Islam to the world.”
The Festival presents a good opportunity for visitors of different ages to learn about different cultures.
I certainly hope that this Festival will be able to attract exhibitors from more countries to showcase their arts and culture in the future.
The event will run until Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Precinct 3. Maybe I’ll go back there later to catch some of the programs.
Here are photos from my visit to PIIACuF 2013.
