Huh? A beach in Putrajaya? Indeed, yes!

My recent visit to Putrajaya Swimming Pool at Precinct 6, has led to a discovery of a unique Pantai Berpasir (means “sandy beach”), which is next to the pool complex.

The good looking Pantai Berpasir is within the Putrajaya Maritime vicinity at the Putrajaya Water Sports Complex.

There is also a premier hotel called Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside nearby it. Swimming isn’t allowed in the lake though, as prompted on signboards in the area.

When I was there in early April, the area was crowded with college rowers and kayakers who competed in the MASUM (Majlis Sukan Universiti Malaysia) 2012 championship.

Not to mention, the lakeside often gets visits from brides and grooms for photography sessions in the scenic views, for their albums. I have also noticed, weekends usually draw more crowds to the area — for a picnic, a jog or a stroll around the lake.

Meanwhile, the Putrajaya Swimming Pool at Precinct 6 has an Olympic-sized pool open to public. Two shallow pools for kids are also available. Minimal fees of RM2.00 for adults and RM1.00 for children are charged for entrance. It is equipped with changing and shower rooms, toilets, canopies and others. The place is generally clean. These facilities are taken care of by the Perbadanan Putrajaya. I have taken photographs of these places for your view in the slideshow below.

The slideshow may not appear on your mobile device (my apology), but you can go directly to the album by clicking here.

What’s your favorite beach?
